Many newborns sleep a lot during the first days because birth is a major transition. Their energy needs are small, and colostrum is easy to absorb. Long sleep periods with short feedings in between are normal. As long as your baby wakes to feed and has wet and dirty diapers, this is reassuring.
🌿 Alma’s tips
• Wake your baby every 2–3 hours if sleeping very long stretches.
• Skin-to-skin helps your baby wake and feed more effectively.
• Follow your baby’s rhythm — it becomes more stable over time.
