During weeks 24–26, the fetus continues to grow, and the body becomes more stable. Movements become clearer and stronger. You may feel gentle bumps, light pressure, or soft rolling motions more regularly. Sometimes movements come in bursts, and sometimes there are quieter moments — this is completely normal. There is still plenty of room for the fetus to move and change position frequently.

Muscles are getting stronger, and joints are becoming more stable. The body practices for future development, but this stage is still calm and steady. The skin becomes less transparent, but it remains thin and soft. The fetus practices moving the mouth, drawing in amniotic fluid, and alternating between rest and activity — without conscious awareness.

For the pregnant person, the body may start to feel heavier. The uterus grows upward, and you may feel more weight in your back, hips, or legs. It is also common for the skin on the belly to feel more stretched as it expands. Rest, gentle movement, and comfortable clothing can help the body adjust.

This may be a period when pregnancy feels more real, physically and emotionally. You may notice a growing connection between your body and the fetus — even if you don’t feel movement all the time.

Alma’s tips 🌿

  • Movement patterns can vary from day to day — this is normal at this stage.

  • Rest when the body asks for it — even if you don’t feel tired.

  • Comfortable clothing and soft movement can ease tension in the body.

  • It’s okay if you don’t feel a strong bond yet — connection develops with time.
