It’s common to struggle with concentration during your teenage years. Your thoughts jump around, you get restless, or forget what you were doing. It can feel like something’s wrong, but often it’s just part of how your brain is developing.
During puberty, the parts of your brain that manage focus, planning, and impulse control are still maturing. That can make it harder to stay on track, especially when you’re processing strong emotions and lots of information.
Tiredness, stress, anxiety, or conditions like ADHD can also affect concentration. That’s why it’s important to talk about it if it’s making everyday life difficult.
Alma’s tips:
Try different study styles — stand up, take breaks, or use background music.
Break tasks into smaller pieces — it’s easier to focus that way.
Talk to a teacher or trusted adult if you need support. Help is available.
