Friendships can feel natural at first — but sometimes they change, and you start wondering if they still make you feel good. Just asking that question shows courage.

A healthy friendship should feel safe. You should be able to be yourself without fear of being judged or left out. If you often feel anxious, drained, or like you have to be someone else to fit in — your body might be trying to tell you something.

Friends argue sometimes, and that’s normal. But what matters is how you both handle it. Do you listen to each other? Does it feel fair? Can you calm down afterward?

Alma’s tips:

Notice how you feel after spending time together. Do you feel calm and happy, or tired and uneasy? That tells you a lot. Real friends lift you up, not wear you down. It’s okay to let go of relationships that no longer feel right — sometimes you need space for the people who truly see you.
