Acupressure wristbands, often used for motion sickness, can also help ease pregnancy-related nausea. The bands apply pressure to a point on the inner wrist (P6 or Neiguan point) that both traditional Chinese medicine and modern studies link to reduced nausea. The effect varies from person to person, but the method is safe during pregnancy.
There are no known risks, and you can wear the bands day and night. They’re most useful in the morning or whenever nausea tends to peak. While they don’t replace rest or food, they can offer gentle extra support.
Place the band about three finger-widths below your wrist crease, between the tendons. The pressure should be firm but not painful. Combine with small meals, fresh air, and plenty of fluids.
Alma’s tips:
• Put them on before getting out of bed.
• Try both wrists and adjust for comfort.
• Use them as a complement, not the only remedy.
