Adrenaline and noradrenaline can inhibit contractions early in labour if the woman feels stressed or unsafe. This is why calm surroundings are essential in the early phase. Near the end of labour, however, adrenaline naturally rises and provides energy, alertness, and strength during the pushing phase. This shift is a normal physiological response that supports the final stage of birth.

🌿 Alma’s tips

• Late labour: a sudden surge of energy often signals that pushing is approaching.

• Trust the hormonal shift – it is part of your body’s design.
