In early pregnancy, it can feel like carrying a secret that’s too big for words. Something inside you has changed, but you don’t quite know how to talk about it. You want to share, but when the moment comes, the words feel too small for what’s happening within.

It’s a strange in-between space. You know something no one else knows yet — but there’s nothing to show, nothing visible, nothing that can be proven. And still, it’s real. What you feel might be a mix of calm, hope, and quiet uncertainty. That’s completely normal. It’s like living in two worlds at once — one outer, where everything looks the same, and one inner, where everything has shifted.

When you do tell someone, you may notice that people respond differently. Some are joyful, others cautious, and a few might change the subject. That can make you want to hold it closer, to protect it. But that doesn’t mean you’re alone — it just means you’re experiencing something that language hasn’t quite caught up to yet.

Alma’s advice:

• You don’t have to explain everything — share what feels right for you.

• Speak at your own pace, with people who feel safe.

• Silence is also a kind of language. Your body is speaking right now.

Talking about something no one can see isn’t about finding perfect words — it’s about letting what’s real have space to exist, in your own way, in your own time.
