Almost everyone compares themselves to others — especially during the teenage years. You might notice other people’s looks, grades, friendships, or how happy they seem. But what you see is rarely the full story.
On social media, we usually show the highlights, not the struggles. And most people don’t talk openly about their insecurities — but they have them too. When you compare yourself too much, you lose touch with who you are and what really makes you happy.
You can learn to let go of comparisons. It takes time, but it’s possible.
Alma’s tips:
Take breaks from apps that make you feel bad.
Remind yourself of what’s important to you, not what looks good to others.
Write down three things you like about yourself — every day if you want.
